Get 6 easy tips for keeping your skin fresh and radiant.
Unless you’re a Real Housewife, you probably don’t have endless amounts of time to spend getting pampered. And while it’s important to follow the run-of-the-mill beauty advice – wear SPF daily, take off your makeup before bed, and eat a balanced diet – for glowing skin, there are other surprising beauty hacks that’ll give your look a boost.
Cleanse: Clean skin is beautiful skin. It is important to keep your skin clean from sweat, dirt and oil to avoid clogged pores and blemishes. Wash your face with a mild cleanser in the morning and evening, then quickly sweep the cotton pad with toner. Also, exercise, cleaning the house, gardening, or any other dirty or physically strenuous activity, or the use of sunscreen, such as washing your face after these activities.
Exfoliate: Does your skin look empty? It can be the formation of dead skin cells, sunscreen, make-up, or oil. Exfoliation, which is done with a light scrub or using a cream containing fruit acids, is a great way to bring the glow back to the surface by revealing fresh, new skin underneath. If you choose a scrub, try not to overdo it or your skin will look darker. The gentle pressure is just that you need to help the bush granules do their job in an exfoliate. If you use fruit acid cream or gel, do not overdo it. Follow the product instructions to avoid skin irritation.
Quickly refresh the face: If you don't have time to wash your face, or just want to get rid of this "tired" look, use a best tanner to refresh and cleanse your skin. Try witch hazel on a cotton pad. Or fill a spray bottle with one quart of alcohol in six quarts of water, and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Close your eyes and lightly spray your face. You will feel refresh and your face will show it!
Moisturize: It is very important to keep your skin moisturized. Even if your skin is more oily than usual due to the heat of the summer, you should use an oil-free moisturizer to change the moisturizing scent when cleaning your face. Also, if you have "combined skin" - skin that is oily in some parts and dryer in others, you will also need a moisturizer to remove your skin tones. Apply moisturizer on your face after each cleansing. Look for products that are hypoallergenic, as many skin types become highly sensitive to climate change.
Get rid of excess sweat and oil: Glow looks great, but not greasy! As the mercury rises, you are bound to sweat. If you have oily skin, you are more likely to get acne. Keep a translucent pressed powder compact on hand, and then often soak your skin in the powder through puffs or tissues to absorb as much sweat and oil as possible. You will look fresh and this will help control the breakout.
Nourish: Summer and pregnancy stress can do real damage to your skin. But you can fight it off by nourishing your skin with a comfortable face mask. Buy herbal masks for normal skin, mud masks for oily skin or avocado masks for dry skin. Or for all skin types here, here is a simple mask that you can make at home: Mix 1/2 cup oatmeal with warm water and a teaspoon of honey. Apply freely to your face, avoiding the eye area. Sit back and rest for 10 minutes and rinse well. Your skin will feel soft and fresh!
